Pulpit Rock or Preikestolen, (sometimes Prekestolen) in Norwegian, is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the southern part of Norway. The mountain plateau dives 604 meters vertically to the Lysefjord below, and the top is an almost level plateau of 25x25 meters. You can see all the way into Lysebotn at the end of the Lysefjorden and if you dare you can lie on your stomach on the edge and gaze from the heights hundreds of feet to the fjord below. To get here you need to walk approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from Preikestolhytta (cabin) (3.8 kilometres, 330 meters in height difference from the parking place).

This year we will not organise a walk to the Pulpit Rock, but feel free to go by your self. Nice place to visit!
Equipment
You're not going to need a lot of camping equipment, but a pair of hiking shoes or good sneakers with good grip on slippery rock will be needed. Also, a wind-and waterproof jacket is going to be really nice when we get to the top, and a small ruck sack to put your extra (preferably woollen) sweather and a bottle of water in, along with your lunch pack, is not a bad idea. Remember to dress appropriate to the weather! And of course - bring your camera.

Please remember that this is the west coast of Norway - the weather changes more rapidly than you think :)
How to get there
Public transport is not possible out of season. Get in touch with a local with car, or come back next year.
